Community Cleanup

The Signal Hill Community Association, along side the Discovery Ridge and Springbank Hill communities are planning on another community cleanup day where we will have multiple city garbage trucks in a parking lot to assist you in removing some unwanted items from your home. Think of things like old electronics, tires, wood, mattresses, chairs, beds, landscaping etc.

  • Event Date: Saturday, May 18, 2024
  • Time: 9am – 2pm
  • Location: Westside Kings Church parking lot (SE corner of Springbank Blvd and 69th St SW)
  • The City will provide trucks to collect: garbage going to the landfill.
  • Other recycling vendors may include: metal, electronics, tires, and household donations.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept: chemicals, contaminated materials, or hazardous items. Household Hazardous Waste can be dropped of at the fire stations located on this site with the nearest being the Lincoln Park/Garrison Green Fire Station #20 at 2800 Peacekeepers Way SW
  • We need 30 volunteers (10 from each community) to work one 2-hr shift each. We’ll have this posted on our membership page as soon as they’re available.
  • Volunteers will: direct traffic, help people unload their items, support City workers and vendors, answer questions, promote community memberships, etc.

Thank you to the City of Calgary Community Strategies and Waste & Recycling for their contributions. As well, thank you to the many volunteers in these communities who make events like this possible.
