2025 Community Cleanup

The Signal Hill Community Association, along side the Discovery Ridge and Springbank Hill communities are planning another community cleanup day where we will have multiple city garbage trucks in a parking lot to assist you in removing some unwanted items from your home. Think of things like old electronics, tires, wood, mattresses, chairs, beds, landscaping etc.

  • Event Date: Saturday, May 31, 2025
  • Time: 9am – 2pm
  • Location: Westside Kings Church parking lot (SE corner of Springbank Blvd and 69th St SW)
  • The City will provide trucks to collect: garbage going to the landfill.
  • Other recycling vendors include: metal, electronics, tires, and household donations.
  • The Cerebral Palsy Alberta is accepting small donations
  • The Drop-In Center is accepting any furniture
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept: chemicals, contaminated materials, or hazardous items. Household Hazardous Waste can be dropped of at the fire stations located on this site with the nearest being the Lincoln Park/Garrison Green Fire Station #20 at 2800 Peacekeepers Way SW

Volunteers:

This event won’t be possible without some amazing volunteers. 60 volunteers total (20 + from each community) are required to make this event successful. Volunteer Sign-Up

Volunteers will:

  • direct traffic,
  • help people unload their items,
  • support City workers and vendors,
  • answer questions,
  • promote community memberships, etc.

Volunteers to bring:

  • a snack,
  • bottled water,
  • work gloves,
  • safety glasses,
  • suitable clothing and footwear (dress for the weather, no open-toed shoes),
  • reflective vest,
  • disposable gloves,
  • mask (if you choose).

Available at the event:

  • water,
  • porta potty,
  • disposable gloves,
  • masks,
  • reflective vests.
