When and why did you move to Signal Hill?

We moved here in 2019, before we had kids. Both of ours were actually born here so this is the only home they’ve known. The mountain views from the backyard trail, the playground, the school, the library, it all just works. We got lucky with this one.

Why did you join the SHCA board?

I noticed there are so many young families in Signal Hill just like ours and I wanted to make sure someone on the board understands what matters to us day to day. I have a tech and communications background so I took on the website, emails, and all the behind the scenes stuff that keeps things running. If residents need something or have questions, I want to make sure they actually get a response.

What is your motivation to stay on the SHCA board?

When people put their trust in a community board, they deserve to see things actually get done. That’s what keeps me going. Whether it’s getting information out faster, following through on what we say we’ll do, or just being available when someone reaches out, I take that seriously. This is home for all of us and I want people to feel like the board has their back.

What is your favourite activity in Signal Hill or beyond?

Walking the backyard trail with the mountains in view. Never gets old. And just enjoying everything the neighbourhood has to offer, the playground, the library, the school. It’s all right here and that’s exactly why we’re still here.
