Two May Deadlines, Douglas Fir Trail (May 15) + Discovery Ridge Dam (May 13)
Councillor John Pantazopoulos' May update lists a long stack of items, but two are time-sensitive and close to home for Signal Hill, both worth a few minutes of your attention.
1. Douglas Fir Trail pre-engagement, closes May 15
The City is asking residents what they want to see in upcoming repairs and design work on the Douglas Fir Trail. If you walk it, run it, or take the dog down through the trees off the escarpment, this is the moment to weigh in before the work is scoped.
Take the survey: engage.calgary.ca/DFT, open through May 15, 2026.
This is the same kind of pre-engagement window we ran for Paskapoo Slopes / Medicine Hill last month. Short surveys, but the answers shape what eventually gets built.
2. Discovery Ridge Dam project, in-person session May 13
Discovery Ridge, one of our Community Cleanup partners on June 13, has a stormwater dam project moving forward, and the City is hosting an engagement session.
- When: Wednesday, May 13, 2026, 6:00–8:30 PM
- Where: Ambrose University, Room 2131, 150 Ambrose Circle SW
- Online survey: calgary.ca/DiscoveryRidgeDam (opens May 4)
