The SHCA is running a community pumpkin carving on Sunday, October 25, 1 to 5 PM, at the Signal Hill Community Centre, in the multi-purpose room and out on the rink. We are providing 50 pumpkins, so bring the kids, pick a face, and leave the mess with us. RSVP so we know how many little carvers to plan for, and if you can spare an hour, join the crew that makes it happen.
Tell us how many are coming so we have enough pumpkins, scoops and hot chocolate. You will join the little parade walking around this box, and we will send you a calendar invite for 1 to 5 PM.
If you can hold a scoop and say “careful with that” to a seven-year-old, you are qualified. Tick one job or several, and families can volunteer together. Crew members walk the parade with a clipboard.
Tables, tarps, carving kits and a few signs. The first hour, before the families arrive.
Hand out scoops and stencils, help small hands with the tricky bits, keep the knives with the grown-ups.
Pour, smile, repeat. The most popular table at any October event, guaranteed.
Tarps folded, tables back, and the pumpkin guts into the green cart where they belong.
Not fussy? Put your name here and we will point you at whatever needs hands on the day.
