Two updates from Westside Rec, new cafe May 25 + Leisure Park June 1
Two updates from Westside Recreation Centre that Signal Hill regulars will want on the radar.
Wise & Wright Cafe, opening Monday May 25. A new cafe is opening inside Westside Rec with what the City describes as a healthy menu designed to "nourish and delight". Worth knowing if you've ever finished a swim, fitness class, or hockey practice and wanted something better than the vending machines.
Leisure Park, opening Monday June 1. The City made the call to repurpose the old Westside Skatepark out back into a community Leisure Park, a public play space for broader neighbourhood use. The new park opens to the public on Monday June 1, 2026. On-site elements and operating hours are listed on the City's announcement page.
Both are at Westside Recreation Centre, 2000 69 Street SW. Quick walk, bike, or short drive from Signal Hill.
