Community Work Day · July 12, 2026

That's a wrap. Thank you.

On Sunday, July 12, a crew of neighbours gave up a beautiful morning to get Signal Hill's shared spaces ready for the season: fresh, crisp lines on the basketball court, tightened boards on the outdoor rink, and a few handrails freshened up while the paint was out. No paid crew, no work order, just neighbours with their own tools. We put together a photo recap of how the day went.

JUL 12

Sunday · Done ✓ Signal Hill Community Centre
489 Sienna Park Drive SW

Built by neighbours · Burgers for lunch · All ages

8 Neighbours showed up

On the court: Gord, Chen, Sheri, Terry, and Brian. On the rink boards: Craig, Paul, and Walt. Thank you, all of you.

How the day went

Sharp new lines, solid boards.

Repainting court lines is more masking tape than paint, and the crew laid out every arc and key by hand before rolling on the colour. Over at the rink, another team worked around the boards with drills and ratchets, re-securing hardware that had worked loose. The full story, in pictures, is on the News desk.
